Many words can be used to describe the fuming little blond known as Kid. Kid learned at an early age to think on her feet, sharing a bit of the inventiveness of her adoptive older sister, Lucca. She thrives off of spontaneity and spur-of-the-moment life-and-death decisions. That being said, she is very choosy about where she places her trust and with whom, although to an outside party, it may seem like rhyme or reason play minor roles in her choices and overall lifestyle. She has been known to hold a very unladylike and rude disposition to some strangers while others are exposed to a sort of rougish charm. She has little time and even less tolerance for girly things such as makeup, manners, and the upkeep of her appearance and is proud of her tomboyish nature.
A sour-faced blind eye is purposefully turned to her past, as she remembers (or chooses to remember) very little of her childhood before and immediately after the destruction of the cozy orphanage she grew up in. Likewise, if anybody asks about it, she is either impolitely evasive... or tells them outright to mind their own damn business. She's hotheaded, impatient, loud, intrusive, insubordinate, unpolished, possessive, sneaky, and vindictive ... On the other side of the spectrum, however, she is fiercely loyal to her friends - to a fault, perhaps, proud, clever, profoundly brave, and displays a strong sense of justice. Just not toward her own transgressions, of course.
There is a soft side buried deep underneath all of the grit and vulgarity, but it is reserved for a select few... and most of those people are deceased. Serge is among the short list of those who are still living, and she often goes out of her way to protect him in the countless fights and scrapes the duo find themselves in throughout their travels -- especially since a large portion of those fights were initiated by her own big mouth. On the flipside, she has gotten herself into a heap of trouble all on her own from which she needed to be rescued. Not a single one of those instances included Kid asking for help... which is simply her way.
All in all, Serge is usually the one she decides to open up to and to this day, he is the only one who has seen her cry.

.STRENGTHS. Holds the ability to use Elementals (magic), as well as various Single, Double, and Triple Techs - using her own spells and attacks with direct cooperation with others to create new, more powerful offensive or defensive effects. She's also a thief - an infamous one, at that, and an official member of the band of thieves known as the Radical Dreamers. She has completely mastered the art of pickpocketing as well as breaking and entering. Kid has a great deal of street-smarts and agility on her side bordering on inhuman skill... It's extremely difficult to take advantage of her due to how self-sustaining she has proven to be in the past, and she holds a firm belief that she can talk her way out of any predicament. And of course, if that doesn't work, she could always fight her way out.
As far as combative skills go, she has never studied any particular martial arts techniques, but she has sufficient skill in bare-knuckle beatings and self-defense as well as a few self-taught dagger-wielding maneuvers. That being said, she can wield either one heavy short-bladed weapon or two smaller ones -- or a vase, or a broomstick, or whatever else she can get her hands on at that given time.
It should also be noted that Belthasar, the sage who set her destiny in motion, watches over her wherever she goes and has been known to use his knowledge of time manipulation to keep her safe until she fulfills the goal of Project Kid. Unbeknownst to Kid, though, this is no ability of hers.

.WEAKNESSES.
Kid might be smart-mouthed and quick to pick a fight, but she bleeds like any other human being. Though she might brag otherwise, she is as succeptable to the blade of a weapon as any other person on the street. And as designated by her innate color, Red (fire), Blue innate magical attacks (water, ice) have a profoundly negative effect on her. She isn't so deeply tied to the element as to be harmed by a swim in the ocean - which she rather enjoys from time to time - but she's a tropical, sun-loving creature and can't stand to be in cold climates for very long. One can infer that she would be largely unamused and in quite a bind if presented with snowy conditions.

.HISTORY.
Kid’s history is extensive and complex. Naturally, her beginning was as spectacular and stormy as her biting personality. The series of events leading up to her unnatural birth was all a part of a set of predetermined events called "Project Kid". Only Belthasar, the mastermind behind it all, understands the entirety of it.
Zeal was the name of the doomed futuristic civilization Kid can be connected to. The Queen of Zeal had two children: Janus, a brooding, dark-natured little boy and Schala, his gentle, compassionate older sister. Both the royal family and the flourishing civilization fell victim to the Queen's quickly deteriorating mental health and lust for power. Schala, forced by her mother's hand, used her magical prowess to aid in the operation of a device that was meant to control Lavos - and to the horror of Janus, was cast into the beast's dark dimension as a result.
Schala's broken and exhausted body was fused into the otherworldly monster where her consciousness rested, living on in her stagnant, unchanging condition... Frozen in time while she waited.
The birth of a little boy named Serge set it all in motion. The young resident of the fishing village called Arni was bitten by a panther demon and was poisoned as a result. His father, Wazuki, and a friend of the family, Miguel, set out to cross the ocean with the sick child to find a cure for his rare affliction.
Their destination was a secluded town to the Southeast, and the expedition went off without a hitch - until Schala decided to intervene. From her prison, she conjured a violent electrical storm that threw them far off course, triggering a series of occurances that linked Serge to the Frozen Flame... a priceless relic shrouded in mystery. During the chaos of the storm, the calculating supercomputer FATE was forced to reboot (The Frozen Flame's actual purpose is to control and/or destroy FATE - the controlling mechanical god which had been manipulating mankind since its disastrous creation.). While FATE's intricate, sensitive systems were down, Schala created a daughter-clone of herself and sent her off to Serge's dimension.
The then-baby girl was found by the blossoming scientist Lucca, who opened up her home as a small orphanage soon thereafter. Her early years were spent in an environment that most little boys and girls dream of - plenty of toys to play with, a robotic playmate, a thousand things to learn and discover every day... Kid was the perfect little lady - and she couldn't have been happier.
Unfortunately, family bliss was not written in Kid's future. In fact, quite the opposite - when she was approximately six years of age, the beastly Lynx and his fiendish follower Harle appeared at her orphanage to make a demand of Lucca that she would not meet... something related to a treasure they called 'Frozen Flame'. Their response to Lucca's uncooperative defiance was to murder beloved 'big sis' and all of the other children at the orphanage shortly before burning the entire place to the ground.
Kid was the sole survivor of this tragedy and spent the remaining duration of her childhood fending for herself.
When she was sixteen years of age, she met that boy named Serge via emergency rescue: she found him on the verge of being under arrest by the officers Solt and Peppor. After whipping them in battle, she declared that she would be trekking alongside of him for his protection.
From this point on, Kid served as an unintentional guide to Serge, the Chrono Trigger to FATE's defenses, to achieve the ultimate goal of saving their world from Lavos. Because of her important (but unwitting) role in this plan, she has been exposed to powerful energies and has faced numerous near-death experiences such as a rare poison affliction, a treacherous stabbing, a would-be fatal drop to the sea, and a strange, trancelike state in which her mind was trapped in events of the past. She emerged unscathed from all of these incidents thanks to the careful eye of Belthasar.
Her only knowledge of her part in this plan was an unerring want to possess The Frozen Flame herself and to exact bloody revenge against the demi-human Lynx who had robbed her of her family and future.
